Poppy Drive - 6 November 2021

Remembrance Day is the day we acknowledge the brave soldiers who have and continue to serve our country through times of conflict and peace. Poppies are the symbol of remembrance and hope for a brighter future. During poppy drives, we as Air Cadets have the opportunity to give poppies to Canadians to wear during the month of November.

Timing: Saturday, November 6th, 2021 from 9:00 - 17:00

Address: 45 Lawson Rd, Scarborough, ON M1C 2J1 (Legion 258)

Dress: For those with a uniform that fits (and have all the parts needed), the dress for the event will be C3 (Service dress) - see home page for additional details regarding specific uniform parts

Dress: For cadets that haven’t yet received a uniform (or have uniform parts that don’t fit) then the dress for the poppy drive will be a white dress shirt, a black tie, black shoes (both sneakers and dress shoes are accepted), dress pants, a jacket and gloves

What to bring: A water bottle, your health card, and proof of vaccination. (For those who would like to complete community service hours, also bring the community service sheet that you can attain from your school's guidance office.)

Contact Information: 2Lt Javed - (416-880-6777)

FTX: Aircrew Survival Day - 7 November 2021

An FTX is a mandatory field training day for cadets, where they learn various things such as making tents and starting fires. FTXs happen twice a year, with one in the fall and one in the spring. Usually, an FTX is an overnight excursion, but with Covid-19 restrictions still in place, we aren’t able to do so this year. Instead, we have a one-day excursion for levels 1 through 5.

Timing: Sunday, November 7th, 2021 from 8:30 - 18:00

Address: 462 Taunton Rd W, Ajax, ON L1T 4S9

Dress: Cadets with Field Training Uniforms may wear them. Otherwise, dress for the weather in civilian clothing and make sure your clothing is cadet-appropriate (i.e. no ripped jeans or offensive shirts).

What to bring: Notebook (note-taking materials), extra masks, a water bottle, any required medication (EpiPens and puffers included), your health card and proof of vaccination.
